I am a marine biologist specializing in aquaculture and invasion science. Graduating from Victoria University of Wellington with a PhD on seahorse aquaculture, I have worked for New Zealand’s National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) since 1995. I have been involved with research on bivalve, crustacean, finfish and echinoderm culture/ecology, marine biofouling and detection of non-indigenous marine organisms as well as the prevention/mitigation of their introduction/spread.
