@tonydiver Hi mate. I'm torn on this one. H. comes is meant to have double cheek spines and this clearly has one, but when compared to the H. kuda photos we have here, the single spine it has appears more elongate than their usual round bump. The colouration appears like H. comes, however if that is an advantageous colour to assume, then it would benefit H. kuda in some areas as well. Also, in your third photo there is an extra bump where the snout begins (left of the eye). The photo and diagram in the Project Seahorse Guide to common large seahorses: Southeast Asia shows this extra bump on H. comes, whereas none of about 30 H. kuda I reviewed from here have it. So I would lean more towards H. comes but without certainty.

Based on the cheek and eye spine I'm more inclined to say this is Hippocampus comes.
