|When did you see it?||Species guess||Current ID|
This seahorse was found in the western waters of Hong Kong during our underwater survey. My buddy and I weren’t there to survey fishes but corals (i.e. a species of gorgonian), however, several of this specific seahorses were found clinging onto the coral branches. And thus it appears to me that there might be a population of this species rather than just a single individual coming in by other means, such as boat. After discussing with a few people in Hong Kong, we are suspecting it to be Japanese seahorse. Until now, there’s no official record of this species existing in Hong Kong nor China. So I’m not 100% sure about our ID, and thus would like to consult Iseahorse team.
