Seven sea horses were inadvertenly collected during an ecological experiment in São Miguel, Azores. Samples were taken at about 12 m depth in a sandy area adjacent to a rocky reef. The animals were holding themselves to iron rods that were securing a experimental setting. It is known that local dives often see more seahorse nearby.
